Guyana Service Trip

Our third International Service Trip to Guyana, South America during Easter Recess 2019 was a HUGE success.  Chaperoned by Math teacher, Mrs. Shawna Melton and Mercy mom, Ms. Christine Deutsch, 13 students traveled for 7 days.  They brought a kazillion donations, toys and activities for the children at the orphanages.  They attended church services during the Holy Days of Easter.  They enjoyed getting to know the boys and girls at St. Anne’s and St. John Bosco Orphanages.  They also traveled with 8 high school students from Mount Mercy in Buffalo, an all-girl Mercy school just like ours!!!  Sister Jenny Wilson, RSM, Theology teacher was their chaperone.  Students that went are: Sophomore, Jalisa Egues; Juniors, Maheen Ahmed, Jennifer Dappen, Erin McAliney, & Sara Trudeau; Seniors, Sydney Carlo, Micaela Deutsch, Julia Leahy, Marlo Scherer, Julia Spagnola, Cece Stocum, Brooke Streightiff & Hailey VanWinkle!

Our second International Service Trip was to Guyana, South America during Spring Break 2017.  6 students and 2 chaperones interacted closely with babies and toddlers at the Red Cross Convalescent home, girls at the St. Anne’s Orphanage and boys at St. John Bosco Orphanage.  We worked together with Sisters of Mercy Ministries in Guyana.  Enjoy the pictures…there is a story behind each and every one!!!
